De'Veldrin wrote:How would you expect them to enforce it? Short of not allowing more than one client to open from any given IP address at a time (which is another nightmare due to shared IP's), how are expecting them to stop people from multi-boxing? Remember, ISBoxer WAS against the EULA, until some inventive chappie demonstrated a totally hardware way of doing the same thing. ISBoxer became "legal" simply because there's no way for CCP to tell when people are using it versus when they're not. Inh otherwords, OP, please demonstrate how to tell when someone is using ISBoxer versus a couple of these. Simple. #1: Client can check to see if the IsBoxer program is installed or running. #2: Automatically flag IPs that have 5+ simultaneous accounts coming from them and ban them until they can prove that they are using hardware methods. |

Just because CCP says it's legal, doesn't make it the correct decision.
It's a shame that so many people actually take the side of cheaters. |

De'Veldrin wrote:Cheaters get banned. It happens all the time, so how is CCP taking their side, exactly?
Because ISBox is cheating, regardless of what CCP claims. CCP might allow it because it makes them money, but it is still cheating. |

De'Veldrin wrote:Then why are you lot so focused on ISBoxer and not on EVERY other method that allows for exactly the same thing? I have yet to hear a single one of you call for banning people using hardware solutions. I love people keep taking about "hardware solutions".
Show me someone who has 40 mice glued together on 40 computers and i'll show you a damned fool. You simply cannot control 40 accounts solo without cheating. |

Repeaters and identically configured UI's have existed for ages. Hardware solution does not mean a bazillion of mice and keyboards. Repeaters are software. |

ashley Eoner wrote:I can mine just as fast with 20 characters via alt tabbing as I could if I used isboxer or any number of cloning programs/hardware. Prove it.
Video yourself mining with 20 accounts ISBoxing for 2 hours and then do it without ISBoxer for 2 hours.
If you are right, you'll have EXACTLY the same amount of Ore on both runs. |

Par'Gellen wrote:Glad to see the CSM has the good sense not to listen to this silliness . What a waste of their time. There is nothing wrong with ISBoxer and the EULA no matter how many accounts you control with it. Thinking otherwise just makes you look uninformed. There is plenty wrong with it. |

Mithandra wrote:Personally I don't like or use isboxer.
Would be hard to implement a fair, accurate and consistent mechanism to ban people using it.
An attempt might cause more angst than its worth. It's actually simple. The "problem" is that it might generate a couple of false positives, which IMO is a fair price to pay. |
